Midnight at the Hot Springs ....

At the end of another week, Prima our translator/interpreter and some of his friends took myself, Yolande and Maej (from ABV) to natural hot springs in the Sari Ater Hotel, Ciater, about 90 minutes drive from Bandung.

We arrived there around 11:00pm, and as we walked in, I was expecting a strong smell of sulphur, but there was none. The place was made up of lots of small natural hot spring pools, waterfalls as well as a man made pool. There were plenty of locals there, including kids, spending the night relaxing in the hot natural spring water, as hot as a very hot bath. The steam rising gave the place a very surreal atmospheric look.

On the way back to Bandung at 3:00am we passed by the entrance to Mount Tangkuban Parahu, which is currently active and no human activity is allowed within 1.5km. It is erupting a lot of steam, dust and ash which has been carried by wind at a radius of 5km
